Fundraising Goals

Spring 2019

  • $6,000 for two solar-powered, flashing pedestrian crossing signs.
    • The first to be placed outside of the skate park, at the crosswalk crossing Webster Street at Snow Road.
    • The second to be placed near the playground, at the crosswalk crossing Library Plaza Road (crossing from the playground to (the now former) Hola.
    • Tiny and Sons Auto Glass has generously given $2,500 to sponsor one of these signs!
  • $10,000 for a traffic study of the intersection of Webster Street and Snow Road.
    • We have received a quote for this work.
    • This is the beginning of what we feel is the most significant phase of the Walkability project (the safe crossing, on foot and by vehicle, of Webster Street at Snow Road).  This will link together all the businesses and resources that are plentiful in Webster Square and in Library Plaza, and will be the first step towards a true, walkable downtown.

** As of May 23, 2019, we have $12,700 of this $16,000 raised, and have been in contact with the DPW to place the order for the two solar signs.
